New app developmentMVP to premium app
From idea to the app stores: iOS, Android, web and desktop from a single codebase, including architecture, CI/CD pipeline, test strategy and release process. You get a product, not a demo.
Available for new projects
I'm Niklas Homann, a senior Flutter developer and full-stack freelancer based in Hamburg, Germany. For more than five years I've been building apps that hold up in the stores: from an MVP shipped in four months to a platform with 200,000+ users and ratings of 4.7 to 4.9 stars.
Four things I do really well. All of them proven repeatedly in production apps, not prototypes.
From idea to the app stores: iOS, Android, web and desktop from a single codebase, including architecture, CI/CD pipeline, test strategy and release process. You get a product, not a demo.
I migrate native and hybrid apps to Flutter step by step: one codebase instead of two teams, faster releases, lower maintenance costs, and no feature freeze during the migration.
If your Flutter app stutters, starts slowly or is hard to maintain: profiling, scalable architecture, clean state management and test coverage your team can rely on.
I get your team up to speed with Flutter: coding standards, code reviews, pairing and technical leadership. I've built, onboarded and led teams of up to five developers.

AI assistant integrated with the client's Microsoft 365 environment: one codebase for Android, iOS, Windows and web, plus full ownership of the release process with CI/CD on Azure DevOps for all four platforms.
Flutter · Dart · MSAL · Entra ID · Azure DevOps
Quote creation from configuration all the way to digital signature, including a NestJS backend and integration with the client's mobile device management (Intune, Entra ID).
Flutter · NestJS · Node.js · Intune App SDK · Acrobat Sign
Further development of the existing newspaper apps, a scalable app architecture, and a newly built AI-powered news app, plus backend microservices in Python.
Flutter · Python · FastAPI · Codemagic · Firebase
Built the wealth and investment tracking app for 200,000+ users from scratch. First version live in four months, well ahead of deadline, including CI/CD, unit and end-to-end tests; then feature expansion and onboarding of two in-house developers.
Flutter · Riverpod · RevenueCat · Fastlane · Maestro
From MVP to a mature app rated 4.7 ★ with 100,000+ downloads, as technical lead of a five-person team, focused on code quality, golden tests and agile product development.
Flutter · Riverpod · Firebase · Keycloak · GitHub Actions
Three Flutter apps, a Next.js website and a Firebase backend, built as a founder and scaled with a team of five developers: 2,500+ active studios, 100,000+ monthly active users, €2M monthly gross merchandise volume, through to profitability. Store ratings: 4.8 and 4.9 ★.

Niklas is an absolute mobile app building machine. Back in February we wanted to launch in September, and we launched in September. It was Niklas who made it happen.
Through his structured way of working, focused communication and high quality standards, he consistently delivered outstanding results. An extremely competent and dedicated software developer whom I can recommend without reservation.
Niklas Homann is one of the most brilliant and dedicated software developers I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
He brings a deep understanding of both Flutter and full-stack development, enabling him to independently architect and deliver complex features at a consistently high level.

My path into app development led through the engine room: an apprenticeship and first years as a software developer at Volkswagen, followed by a computer science degree completed top of my class (M.Sc., GPA 1.0 on the German scale). Instead of returning to the corporate world, I co-founded Beautinda in 2020, backed by the German EXIST founder scholarship, and as CTO built the product, the platform and a team of five developers, through to profitability.
That mix shapes how I work today: I think in products, not tickets. As a former founder I know what features cost and what they need to deliver. Not every idea should be built, but the right ones must be built excellently. That's why CI/CD, testing and clean architecture aren't extras in my work; they're the default.
With Flutter, one shared codebase powers your app on iOS, Android, web and desktop. That roughly halves development and maintenance effort without compromising performance or user experience. Where native interfaces are needed (MDM, Bluetooth, platform APIs), I integrate them via platform channels. For the vast majority of business apps, Flutter is the most economical choice today.
I work remotely from Hamburg for clients across Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the EU. For kickoffs, workshops or key meetings I'm happy to come on-site; hybrid setups have worked very well in my projects.
It depends on scope. As a reference: I took the Finanzfluss Copilot app from zero to the app stores in four months, including CI/CD pipeline and test strategy. For a robust MVP, three to six months is realistic depending on feature scope.
Yes. I take over existing Flutter apps as well as native or hybrid apps that should be migrated to Flutter. We start with a code audit, followed by step-by-step refactoring or migration without putting feature work on hold.
Yes, I work full-stack: backends with TypeScript (NestJS, Node.js) or Python (FastAPI, Flask), Firebase and Google Cloud, plus web frontends with Flutter Web or React/Next.js. My apps come with the APIs they need.
We start with a short, no-obligation intro call (15–30 minutes). You then get an honest assessment of approach and effort, and if it's a fit, a clearly scoped project start. Book a call directly ↗
